Large size sumi stick with an elegant wooden protective box. Kenbimukan ranges from a brownish light gray to a blueish black. Produced by the renowned Boku company of Nara (Japan), according to traditional methods that involve the burning of special oils and woods. After mixing, shaping and drying, a solid stick is obtained.
Depending on the amount of (distilled) water used, various tones may be obtained ranging from gray to solid black (preferable for Western calligraphy). We recommend that you dry the stick with a cloth after each use and place it fully dry in the box, to prevent cracks from forming.
Remember to purchase a suzuri ink stone.
