Iridescent Dr. Martin's inks

Dr. Martin's metallic American inks (the same manufacturer of the famous Dr. Martin's white). These are acrylics, and thus are water resistant inks.
To be diluted with a drop of water if you want to write with a broad nib.
They can be used to create overlapping bases on white tempera, which can then be washed off with a wet sponge to leave behind a negative outline.
