Hamburg Pascribe ink sepia aged

Hamburg sepia calligraphy ink, developed in collaboration with Pascribe and suitable for both broad and pointed nibs. Ink made of dye and pigment. Safe and stable. Obviously, you don’t want to leave it lying out in direct sunlight.

Its unique color (a sepia tone with a subtle green hue) is ideal for giving calligraphy an antique touch.

It has also been specially formulated to soften the often overly strong contrast between ink and white paper, which can cause visual discomfort for people with light sensitivity or certain vision disorders.

Pascribe says: “I sometimes found black ink on white paper a little demanding on my eyes. This, I learned, is a common situation for many older calligraphers. In 2000, I saw a manuscript in a public library in Zurich, and it had the most beautiful brownish, greenish, yellowish sepia ink and it stuck with me, and so we set about mixing this colour I had burned on my brain.”
