Quill with short barb

Cured and cut goose quill from a right wing feather for right-handed calligraphers. With square cut. Length 22 cm approximately.

The barb is only partially trimmed for a better look.

The most appropriate ink for writing sharply with the goose quill is iron gall ink. We recommend writing on a slanted table with very light pression. Please be advised that large quantity orders require a few extra days for processing.

We recommend that you buy a pen with reservoir because the ink will last much longer and you will be more happy and satisfied during your performance. The reservoir is made of brass, it has an ‘s’ shape and is inserted into the pen. The tip of the reservoir must be about 3 mm from the end of the nib. You will get your quill with the reservoir inserted and adjusted, but you may need to adjust it by hand after some time. Pliers may be useful for that purpose.
