For us it is a treasure rich of beautifully illustrated ideas. The text is in German but it is very short and easily translated, where the reader is very interested, with an online translator.

In this book Denise Lach is inspired by the compositions, structures, textures and surfaces that can be found mostly in the natural but partly also artificial world. The author identifies a particular tool, which can be the usual metal nib, something more easy to manipulate like the Cola pen and the ruling pen, very wet and unpredictable like the pipette, or more in harmony with nature like the bamboo quill, and builds a web of letters and signs that a particular photograph such as desert dunes or very aged wood brings to mind.
